Beautiful Planets by Béatrix Li-Chin Loos at Galerie Gosserez
We are over the moon with German-Taiwanese designer Béatrix Li-Chin Loos Beautiful Planets. Made specifically for Galerie Gosserez in Paris the handmade vases each represent a different planet in the solar system. Made from material off-cuts and reclaimed leather straps each spherical form is unique – the result of whatever material left overs where available at the time. The ”mother earth – la terre est notre mère” motto serves as a reminder of our collective duty of care to our Planet. It’s also Beatrix Li-Chin Loos’ leitmotiv and the source of her ecogical inspiration.

From Taïwan and German origins, Beatrix has been torn between her militant role in favour of ecology and her urge for artistical creation. She studied architecture but then switched to social sciences and environmental policy, before joining Greenpeace and embarking on board the emblematic Rainbow Warrior in 1992. Then, she worked for several years for various environmental charities. However her artistic side finally took the upper hand: she followed the world famous Ecole Boulle cabinet making cursus in Paris and created purpose made pieces. She designed her first collection Chut ! de bois in 2009. She has since created these new pieces Beautiful planets exclusivity for the gallery.
